Why did you choose accounting for your career? Why ACCA?

I chose accounting as I saw it as a natural continuation of many of the subjects I enjoyed in primary and secondary school. I chose ACCA on the recommendation of my employer due to the opportunities that it would give me in furthering my career and the legitimacy that comes with an ACCA qualification.

What field of work or study were you in before you started your ACCA exams?

I am currently working as a trainee accountant in a small accounting practice. Before that, I completed the BA in Law and Accounting at the University of Limerick.

Why did you choose Accountancy School?

I chose Accountancy School on the recommendation of a colleague and due to the Platinum accreditation it had received from ACCA as a learning provider.

What advice would you give to someone starting their ACCA journey?

I would advise them to find ways to incorporate knowledge gained at the workplace into their studies.

What is your career goal after gaining your ACCA qualification?

To be able to make a positive contribution to the accounting profession with regards to its approach to sustainability and ethics.
