Why did you choose accounting for your career? Why ACCA?

I have been exposed to accounting from a young age, as my mother is in the field. It allowed me to get an insight into the important and varied roles accountants fill in many different industries. I have always been good at working with numbers; that paired with the variety and freedom accountancy can offer me is what drew me to the profession.

What field of work or study were you in before you started your ACCA exams?

I completed the AAT in England, working in a small practice for three years.

Why did you choose Accountancy School?

The pedigree the school has is obvious, with multiple top-scoring alumni in the school’s past, the choice was easy. I wanted a quality education, and online lectures offered in Acountancy School means that any questions or struggles I have are easily answered by the lecturers.

What advice would you give to someone starting their ACCA journey?

Understand the journey is going to be difficult. It is easy to get disheartened if you let yourself. You might stumble on your journey through ACCA, but with hard work and dedication the challenge will be overcome.

What is your career goal after gaining your ACCA qualification?

Unsure of this at the minute, I still have at least 18 months left on my journey. I have worked in practice for four years, which I enjoy. I might aim to get my audit qualification and advance in practice.
