Why did you chose accounting for your career? Why ACCA?
I chose accounting for my career as it is a great profession with flexibility to work in different industries. The reason I chose ACCA is due to its global recognition and its highly supportive study resources.
What field of work or study were you in before you started your ACCA exams?
I graduated from UCD with a bachelor’s of Commerce degree and worked in the financial services industry before I started the ACCA exams.
Why did you choose Accountancy School?
Because of its high reputation and quality of teaching. There are a lot of positive words that I have heard about Accountancy School, so this made the choice very easy.
What advice would you give to someone starting their ACCA journey?
I have to say ACCA is not an easy qualification, but with hard work and dedication, it is completely achievable. Everyone has their own pace when it comes to the exam, so don’t panic and don’t give up easily when things are not going well. Stay focused and humble, keep doing all the good works and results will soon follow.
What is your career goal after gaining your ACCA qualification?
ACCA qualification is not an end goal itself. I would look to build on the great foundations from the ACCA studies to further enrich my knowledge and also to develop other key skills necessary to build a sustainable career.
