Six accountancy students rank among the best in the world

Six Irish students are celebrating after finishing amongst the top three in the world in their accountancy exams. Gary O’Shea from Bandon, Co Cork, and Rob O’Connell from Ballsbridge, Dublin, both placed first in Ireland, and second in the world, in Advanced Financial Management (AFM) and Performance Management (PM)respectively. Callum McNamara from Newmarket-on-Fergus, Co Clare; Ishika Sardeshmukh, from Headford Road, Galway; Yoanna Ivanova, from Tallaght and Kedar Kishore Kulkarni from Cappagh Road, Galway each ranked first in Ireland–and third place globally–in Strategic Business Reporting (SBR), Audit and Assurance(AA), Advanced Financial Management (AFM)and Audit and Assurance (AA)respectively. All Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) students at Dublin-based online college, Accountancy School, they are amongst 23 accountancy students from the School to rank within the world’s top10 in their exams.

Viewing their results in context, of the worldwide number of 500,000 ACCA students, approximately 8,000 of whom study in Ireland, Gary, Rob, Callum, Ishika, Yoanna and Kedar and were six of 28 fellow Accountancy School students to finish first in Ireland. All were recognised for their achievements at a ceremony in Dublin recently.
